Komolpur in Cumilla’s Sadar Upazila has been renowned for more than half a century for its handmade batik fabrics. The factories here make this fabric from white cotton or silk thana cloth without any machinery. Batik sarees, three-pieces, shirts and lungees are sold at affordable prices at various shops in Cumilla.

Ancient brick structures have been uncovered during digging in Cumilla’s Sadar South Upazila . Archaeologists are now investigating the remarkable find. Under their guidance, an excavation is underway to unearth antiquities and history. The excavation began in April at Balagazir Mura in Dharmapur village on the southern section of the Lalmai Hills in Barpara Union Ward No. 8 and will continue into June.
