Commuters risk their lives to get on or off buses everywhere in Dhaka. Drivers competing for passengers stop the buses in the middle of the streets most of the time. The travellers are also unaware of safety rules or they just ignore them.

New rules have been announced for buses to ease traffic jams in the Mohakhali terminal area of Dhaka. The operators of long-haul buses have been ordered not to take passengers anywhere other than the designated spots. The doors must remain locked during the journey, but the companies appear not to care about the new rules.
