Citizens rally to protect Panthokunjo Park, Hatirjheel

Bangladesh Tree Protection Movement held a citizen's rally on the 30th day of its sit-in programme at Panthokunjo Park on Saturday, Jan 11, 2025, demanding the cancellation of the elevated expressway project connecting Karwan Bazar to Polash, which threatens to destroy the park and Hatirjheel.

Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway

The Dhaka-Ashulia Elevated Expressway is being constructed to bypass Dhaka and reduce traffic congestion in the capital city. The 24 km-long expressway will connect Shahjalal International Airport with Abdullahpur, Ashulia, Baipail, and EPZ on the Nabinagar-Chandra Highway.
