Many parts of Dhaka were inundated during incessant rains under the influence of Cyclone Remal. The water receded in most of the areas afterwards, but not in Jatrabari’s Matuail. Some residents had their yards or even the houses, along with the streets, partially submerged on Tuesday.

Though the rains brought on by Cyclone Remal have abated, severe waterlogging could be seen on Dhaka’s roads until Tuesday afternoon. Commuters had to struggle through the water to reach their workplaces in the morning.

Under the influence of Cyclone Remal, strong winds and persistent rain battered Dhaka throughout Monday, bringing life in the capital to a standstill in many areas and causing difficulties for commuters and school children. Trees have been uprooted by the wind and traffic was disrupted.
