Some of the cows prepared for Eid sacrifices at some farms in Comilla have been dubbed with illustrious names like “Boss”, “Messi”, “Putul” and “Yuvraj”. These cows, which are being treated like royalty, are also massive in size.

This Eid, 19 sacrificial cattle markets will be set up in Dhaka, nine under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 10 under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). Sales will be held for five days, including the three days before Eid. The cattle are already being brought to the makeshift markets a week ahead of schedule. The cattle market at Dhaka’s Postogola Shmashan Ghat already has some cows available for selection.
