Dengue patients overcrowd Dhaka hospital

Dhaka Medical College Hospital has admitted more dengue patients than its capacity by allowing many to stay in the corridors, verandas and places below staircases. Amid a record surge in the number of dengue patients this year, the hospital admitted 348 people with the mosquito-borne disease in the 24 hours to Tuesday morning, Aug 1, 2023. Two patients also died in this period.
