Masked Finfoot

The Masked Finfoot, locally known as Hansh Pakhi or Sundori Hansh, captured in this frame in the Sundarbans mangrove forest. Rarely seen in Bangladesh, the bird is a globally endangered species.

The Masked Finfoot is a brownish bird with black facial mask and yellowish bill. The male has a prominent black throat and fore neck while the female has a white throat and fore neck surrounded by a prominent black border. The legs and 'lobed' feet are pea green.  Photo: Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman
