Mohammad Haris has powered Pakistan to a commanding seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in the third and final T20I in Lahore, sealing a 3-0 series whitewash.
His blistering unbeaten 107 off 46 balls, the first T20I hundred by a Pakistani batter not opening the innings, left Bangladesh’s 196-run total looking modest.
On a flat Gaddafi Stadium pitch likened to a “concrete slab” by commentator Aamir Sohail before the match, Bangladesh posted 196 for 6 thanks to a 110-run opening stand between Parvez Hossain Emon (66) and Tanzid Hasan (42).
But their efforts were overshadowed by Haris’s onslaught, which led Pakistan to chase down the target with 16 balls to spare.
BIG TOTAL NOT ENOUGH
Sent in to bat, Litton Das’s men got off to a flyer as Parvez and Tanzid built a century stand, their first 50-plus partnership in international cricket.
Parvez attacked from the start, smashing spinners and pacers alike, while Tanzid found his rhythm later with three sixes in quick succession.
But Bangladesh could not fully capitalise on the solid platform.
Litton (22 off 18) and Towhid Hridoy (25 off 18) made starts but did not convert. Parvez fell to Shadab Khan after his 66 off 36 balls, and the middle order struggled to maintain momentum.
Late contributions from Jaker Ali (15 n.o.) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib helped push the score close to 200.
Still, the feeling remained that the visitors were 10–15 runs short — a suspicion Haris would soon confirm.
HARIS DEMOLISHES BANGLADESH ATTACK
Chasing 197, Pakistan lost Sahibzada Farhan early but never looked under pressure thanks to a breathtaking assault from Haris and fellow young batter Saim Ayub (45 off 29).
The pair added 92 runs in just 53 balls, tearing apart Bangladesh’s bowling with disdain.
Haris brought up his maiden international fifty in 25 balls and stormed to his century in just 44, narrowly missing out on the record for Pakistan’s fastest T20I hundred by one delivery.
His innings included 8 fours and 7 sixes.
Even as wickets fell at the other end, including Ayub and Nawaz (26 off 13), Haris remained untroubled.
He reached his century and was embraced by captain Salman Ali Agha as Pakistan cruised home in the 18th over.
Haris finished the series as both Player of the Match and Player of the Series, scoring 179 runs across the three games.
The 3-0 series defeat completes a winless campaign for Bangladesh, who showed flashes of promise with the bat but were thoroughly outplayed with the ball and in the field.
