Despite the absence of a trophy to top off his career with the national team, Mushfiqur Rahim’s individual achievements took Bangladesh cricket to new heights.

Mushfiqur called time on his ODI career on Wednesday night.

VICTORIES

Mushfiqur recorded the highest number of wins with Bangladesh ‒ playing a part in 124 triumphs, ahead of Shakib Al Hasan (117), Mahmudullah (109) and Tamim Iqbal (109).

MOST MATCHES

Mushfiqur played the highest number of matches in the red and green jersey of the Tigers. He appeared in 274 games, while no other player has reached even 250 games. Shakib Al Hasan trails him with 247 games.

MOST CONSECUTIVE APPEARANCE

The Tigers featured Mushfiqur in 92 ODIs on the trot from Jul 15, 2010 to Dec 16, 2016, becoming the player with the highest consecutive appearance in national colours.

He claimed the record from Tamim, who had played 85 successive ODI games from February 2007 to July 2010.

FASTEST CENTURY

Mushfiqur holds the record for the fastest century by a Bangladeshi batsman. He hammered a 60-ball 100 against Ireland in Sylhet in 2023.

He is second on the list of highest number of centuries for Bangladesh with nine tons, only behind Tamim who has 14. Tamim and Mushfiqur also sit at the top of the ODI run-scorer list with 8,357 and 7,795 runs, respectively.

100 SIXES

Mushfiqur is one of a trio of Tigers’ batsmen who has a century of ODI sixes. Tamim hammered 103 while Mahmudullah bludgeoned 107 sixes over their career.

WICKETKEEPER-BATSMAN

Mushfiqur played 260 of his 274 ODI matches as wicketkeeper. Only five wicketkeepers are ahead of him in terms of ODI appearances - Kumar Sangakkara (360), Mahendra Singh Dhoni (350), Mark Bouncher (294) and Adam Gilchrist (282).

Gilchrist, Dhoni and Sangakkara scored more runs than he did over the course of their careers.

STEADFAST BEHIND THE STUMPS

Mushfiqur recorded 241 catches and 56 stumpings as wicketkeeper, logging a total of 297 dismissals overall. All three stand as records for Bangladesh.

Khaled Mashud held the record before him with 126 dismissals, including 91 catches and 35 stumpings.

Mushfiqur is the only wicketkeeper from Bangladesh to grab five catches in a single ODI.

BEST PARTNERSHIPS

Mushfiqur is part of Bangladesh’s highest scoring pair. He scored 3,545 runs with Shakib Al Hasan at the other end in his career. No other pair scored 3,000 runs for Bangladesh.

Mushfiqur also featured in two of the three batting partnerships with at least 2,000 runs -- one with Mahmudullah (2,574) and the other with Tamim (2,008).

Mushfiqur and Shakib stitched seven century partnerships, the highest for Bangladesh in the format.

CAPTAINCY

He led Bangladesh in 37 ODIs, exactly equalling Tamim. Four other Bangladesh players have captained Bangladesh more than them.
