Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin has announced the government’s special measures to ensure that orphanages and madrasas receive a fair price for the hides of sacrificial animals.
He said, “To support the diversification, preservation, and storage of the hides, a total of 30,000 tonnes of salt have been distributed free of charge to various orphanages and madrasas. Temporary approval has also been granted for the export of raw hides.”
“As a result, we expect that orphanages and madrasas will receive appropriate compensation,” he added.
He made these comments on Tuesday at a post-budget press conference, which began with an introductory statement on the proposed budget by Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed.
Bashir said that these innovative ideas are not limited to the Ministry of Commerce, but spans across the other sectors under the interim government.
“We are on a journey towards success; it is not a final destination. We must remain committed to this path,” he said.
