The Chinese Enterprises Association in Bangladesh (CEAB) and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles (CCCT) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in the textile and apparel sector.

The agreement is focused on joint exhibitions, trade promotion, advancing sustainable innovation in textile manufacturing and so on, the CEAB said in a statement on Saturday.

The signing ceremony took place at the CEAB office in Dhaka’s Baridhara Diplomatic Zone.

The event coincided with the official visit of a high-level delegation from China to Bangladesh at the invitation of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), the statement read.

Through this MoU, CEAB and CCCT aim to create a long-term framework for cooperation that will drive the development of the textile and apparel industries in both Bangladesh and China, it added.

CEAB’s Textile and Garment Branch President Ge Zhenyu (Mike) and CCCT Vice Chairman Zhang Xi'an signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations.
