The 15th issue, titled ‘Break the Cross’, is the third straight one to mention attacks perpetrated by the ‘soldiers of Caliphate’ in Bangladesh.

Islami State reportedly claimed credit for the killing of 20 hostages, including 17 foreigners, and two policemen in the Gulshan cafe attack. It also published bloodied photos of the carnage site.

The Middle East-based terror group had claimed a number of machete murders in past one and a half years in Bangladesh, but the government is denying its presence in the country.

A Dabiq report titled, ‘Islamic State Operation’ referred to the recent attacks in Bangladesh.

“On the 27th of Ramadan, five inghimasi soldiers of the Caliphate carried out an attack on the Artisan Restaurant, which is frequented by Crusader foreigners of varying nationalities, in the city of Dhaka” the subsection ‘Bengal’ says.

“The mujahidin held a number of hostages as they engaged in a gun battle with apostate Ben¬gali police, and succeeded in killing and injuring dozens of disbelievers before attaining shahadah,” it adds.

Two photos of the attack have also been published. The photos had earlier been published on so-called IS news agency – Amaq.

The other attacks mentioned in the Dabiq report are – murder of Rajshahi University Professor AKM Rezaul Karim Siddique, Nikhil Zoarder of Tangail, Sunil Gomes of Natore, and Jhenaidah Hindu priest Ananta Gopal Ganguly.

An interview of ‘Abu Ibrahim Al Hanif’, the so-called leader of ‘Caliphate in Bengal’, was published in the 14th issue of Dabiq. ‘Hanif’ had announced ‘Caliphate’ in Bangladesh in the interview.
