Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has assured all possible support to Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus in rebuilding Bangladesh.

He delivered the assurance during a meeting with Yunus at the Qatari Prime Minister's Office in Doha on Thursday, state-run news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) reported.

In the meeting, the Qatari PM, who is also the foreign minister, expressed full support for the leadership of the interim prime minister.

He also said he would nominate a close aide to take relations with Bangladesh to new heights.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed confidence that Bangladesh will emerge stronger in the coming years through the ongoing reform and reconstruction process.

“We trust in your continued leadership,” he said to Yunus.

In the meeting, the chief advisor sought Qatar's cooperation in the diplomatic, financial, and investment sectors to build a better Bangladesh, including creating new opportunities and a prosperous future for the country's nearly 180 million people, especially the youth.

Sheikh Mohammed urged Yunus to send a technical team to Qatar to explore different areas of cooperation.

The meeting also addressed the Rohingya crisis, where Yunus called for all possible support to ensure the dignified repatriation of the Rohingyas.

Yunus thanked the Qatari PM for backing a high-level dialogue on the Rohingya issue on the sidelines of the Earthna Summit.

The Qatari PM commended Bangladesh for hosting over one million Rohingya refugees.

Sheikh Mohammed called for strengthening international support to resolve the Rohingya crisis, reiterating Qatar's support for them and a sustainable solution to the problem.

The two leaders also discussed the Gaza situation, with Yunus expressing regret over the global silence on the crisis.

The Qatari PM appreciated Bangladesh’s stance on Gaza, and Yunus thanked Al Jazeera for its coverage despite numerous challenges.

Yunus requested Qatar’s assistance in training and facilities for Bangladeshi female athletes and invited Sheikh Mohammed to visit Bangladesh.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Advisor Touhid Hossain, Energy Advisor Fouzul Kabir Khan, National Security Advisor Khalilur Rahman, and Principal Coordinator for SDGs Lamiya Morshed, among others.
