United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has left Dhaka at the end of a four-day official visit.

His flight departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:55am on Sunday, the Chief Advisor's Office said in a statement.

Environment Advisor Rizwana Hasan and Khalilur Rahman, the chief advisor’s high representative on Rohingya issues, bid him farewell at the airport.

Ahead of his departure, Guterres spoke with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus over the phone to exchange farewell greetings.

Guterres arrived in Dhaka on Thursday at the invitation of Yunus. Upon his arrival, he was received by Foreign Affairs Advisor Md Towhid Hossain at the airport.

On Friday, he went to a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox's Bazar and shared Iftar with Myanmar's forcibly displaced citizens.

On Saturday, Guterres inaugurated the new UN building in Dhaka and met with the Bangladesh country team. In the afternoon, he attended a roundtable conference with members of the Commission for National Consensus Building and leaders of various political parties, followed by discussions with representatives of the youth community.

His visit ended with a joint press conference alongside the foreign affairs advisor on Saturday afternoon.
