As the Bengali month of Falgun ushers in spring, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, or BMD, has forecast rainfall in parts of the country.

Light showers are expected in two divisions on Tuesday, with rainfall spreading across the country by Thursday, according to Meteorologist Afroza Sultana,

"There may be light rain for three days from today. After that, there will be no rain for now. It may rain again on Feb 23," she told bdnews24.com.

The BMD's daily bulletin indicated the Rangpur and Sylhet divisions could experience rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours starting 9am Tuesday.

Elsewhere, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy, with mainly dry weather prevailing.

Light to moderate fog may form late at night and persist through dawn.

Nighttime temperatures are projected to rise slightly, while daytime temperatures will remain largely unchanged.

Nilphamari’s Dimla Upazila recorded the nation’s lowest temperature on Tuesday at 11 degrees Celsius, while Bandarban registered the highest, reaching 33.2 degrees Celsius.
