In the latest development of Operation Devil Hunt, authorities have reported the arrest of 678 individuals across Bangladesh.

According to a press statement issued by the Police Headquarters on Wednesday, another 1,012 suspects were apprehended over several offenses and warrants.

Law-enforcing agencies have seized an assortment of weaponry, including firearms, razors, machetes and sabres.

Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, or DMP, carried out several significant operations in the capital, arresting 289 people in the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, the Inter-Services Public Relations, or ISPR, has provided information about the arrests of 51 suspects in joint operations over the past 48 hours.

According to a press release issued by the DMP, as many as 65 checkpoints were set up from 12am Monday to 12am Tuesday.

Over the 24-hour period, authorities arrested 29 alleged robbers, 28 muggers, six extortionists, 10 thieves, 19 drug dealers, 45 individuals with outstanding warrants, and others suspected of several criminal activities.

Authorities also recovered several sharp weapons along with some narcotics during the operation.

The ISPR has said that at least 51 people were arrested in joint operations in Mohammadpur, Adabor, Azimpur, Dhaka College, Khilkhet, Uttara, Abdullahpur Bus Stand, Dakkhinkhan, and Nikunja areas on Tuesday and Wednesday.

During the operation, members of the teenage gang called the “Kutti Group”, including leader Russell, who was identified by a single name, and his brother Bush, alias Sabbir, were arrested in Kamrangirchar.
