Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has joined the funeral mass of Pope Francis in Vatican City, according to state news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
The funeral for Pope Francis took place at St Peter’s Square on Saturday.
Dozens of world leaders and dignitaries, including US President Donald Trump and Prince William, joined the ceremony.
Yunus was seated among the global leaders and dignitaries during the service, BSS reports.
The head of Bangladesh's interim government and his delegation travelled to Qatar's Doha on Apr 21 to attend the Earthna Summit. After completing the four-day trip, they arrived in the Italian capital Rome on Friday.
Pope Francis, who was born in Argentina, died last week at the age of 88. Following his death, the Catholic Church, which has around 1.5 billion followers, began the ancient traditions and ceremonies associated with the farewell of a pontiff.
As part of the mourning rites, Pope Francis was lying in state at St Peter’s Basilica from Wednesday morning until Friday evening.
According to the Vatican, around 250,000 people visited and paid their respects at his coffin during that period.
