Authorities have fixed the minimum rate of Fitra, a charitable donation by well-off Muslims at the end of Ramadan, at Tk 110 per person in 2025. The maximum amount has been fixed at Tk 2,805 per person.

Islamic Foundation’s Assistant Public Relations Officer Shayla Sharmin told bdnews24.com, “The Sadakatul Fitr rate has been fixed at a minimum Tk 110 and maximum Tk 2,805 per person for the year 1446 Hijri.”

The rates are lower than what they were last year when it was minimum Tk 115 and maximum Tk 2,970.

This Fitra rate is lower than the one fixed for last year which stood at a minimum of Tk 115 and a maximum at Tk 2,970.

The National Fitra Committee set the latest rates at a meeting at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque on Tuesday.

Baitul Mukarram Khatib Moulana Mufti Abdul Malek, president of the committee, headed the meeting.

According to Islamic belief, every well-off Muslim should provide this donation during Eid-ul-Fitr. For minors, their father should pay it. Fitra should be paid before Eid prayers.

Muslims can distribute specific amount of goods like wheat, flour, dates, raisins, cottage cheese or the market prices of those goods among needy people instead of the monetary donation.

For wheat and flour, the amount is 1 kg 650 grams. For items like dates, raisins, cottage cheese or maize, Fitra should be 3 kg 300 grams or the market prices of these goods.

The minimum and maximum Fitra is fixed based on those market prices.

Accordingly, Tk 110 has been fixed based on wheat and flour prices, Tk 530 for maize, Tk 2,310 for dates, Tk 1,980 for raisins and Tk 2,805 should be paid based on cottage cheese price.

The Fitra has been fixed based on the highest market prices of flour, maize, dates, raisins, and cottage cheese in all divisions in the country, the committee said.
