The government has decided to keep the prices of all types of fuel unchanged for the month of March.

The Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources announced the decision on Saturday.

Fuel prices are adjusted monthly using an "automated system" to align with global market fluctuations. Last month, prices were hiked by Tk 1 per litre across the board.

Accordingly, diesel will still cost Tk 105 per litre, kerosene Tk 105, octane Tk 126, and petrol Tk 122 this month.

After taking charge following the fall of the Awami League government, the interim administration first adjusted fuel prices on Aug 31, 2024.

At that time, prices for petrol and octane were reduced by Tk 6 per litre for September, while diesel and kerosene prices dropped by Tk 1.25 per litre.

In October’s price review, the government lowered diesel and kerosene prices by Tk 0.50 per litre to Tk 105, keeping petrol and octane unchanged.

On Dec 31, a further adjustment brought diesel and kerosene down to Tk 104 per litre, while petrol remained at Tk 121 and octane at Tk 125.
