People from 16 villages in Jamalpur's Sarishabari Upazila have celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday.

More than 500 men and women offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers in the morning.

The villages are Balardiar, South Balardiar, Mulbari Satpoa, Balia, Bonogram, Karogram, Hosnabad, Boushi, Sancharpar, Panchapeer, Pakhadubi, Puthiyarpar, Bogarpar, Lotabor, Ucchagram and Patabuga.

The main Eid congregation was held at the Master Bari Jaame Masjid Eidgah ground in South Bolardia village at 8:15am on Sunday. Imam Azimuddin led the Eid prayers.

Imam Azimuddin said they have celebrated Eid on the same day as Saudi Arabia for one and a half decades.

Imam Abdur Razzak led the Eid prayers at Ucchagram's Dakkhinpara Mosque, Imam Abul Kashem at Boushi Panchapeer village, and Imam Mahfuzur Rahman at Banogram High School.
