3 brothers killed as bus crushes motorcycle in Barguna

Three brothers, including two minors, have died when a bus ploughed into the motorcycle they were riding on in Barguna's Pathorghata Upazila.

The incident occurred in the Upazila's Sonar Bangla area around 7:45am on Saturday, said Mehedi Hasan, chief of Pathorghata Police Station.

The victims have been identified as 22-year-old Md Naimuzzaman Shuvo, 14-year-year-old Mohammad Shanto and 8-year-old Mohammad Nadim.

The Rajib Paribahan bus was en route to Dhaka when it collided head-on with the Pathorghata-bound motorcycle, according to Mehedi.

"The brothers died on the spot. Their bodies have been recovered and taken to Pathorghata Hospital," he said.

The bus has been seized but its driver and his aides managed to flee, according to police.

"The victims' family has been informed about the incident. A decision on legal actions will be taken once they're here," said Mehedi.
