The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted rainfall in all of the divisions across the country for the next two to three days but with the temperature rising from Tuesday.

Dhaka experienced a shower on Monday morning. However, the sun began to shine as the day rolled on, accompanied by a rise in the temperature.

The weather is likely to remain similar for the next few days but the temperature is expected to rise, the forecast said.

Meteorologist Tariful Newaz Kabir told bdnews24.com, “This is the pre-monsoon season. The weather tends to change frequently. The temperature will rise a little over the next few days. Generally, during this time of the season, a little rainfall keeps the temperature at a tolerable level and then it rises when the rain stops.”

The Met Office bulletin at 9am on Monday said that rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at a few places over the Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and one or two places over the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Barishal divisions.

The weather may remain largely dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the rest of the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly.

Noakhali’s Hatiya saw the maximum rainfall recorded at 55mm in the last 24 hours. Also, 46 mm of rain was recorded in Netrokona, 35mm in Mymensingh, and 31mm in Noakhali’s Maijdicourt. It rained a little in other parts of the country as well.

The maximum temperature of the country was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius in Khulna. The lowest was recorded at 20 degrees Celsius in Kishoreganj’s Nikli.
