BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said elections are the only way to institutionalise democracy.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Zia Memorial Football Tournament, organised by the Thakurgaon district BNP, he emphasised that elections are essential to reach democratic goals.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “There is no alternative to democracy. To institutionalise democracy, elections are the only path.

“This is the sole way forward in every field—football, cricket, sports, culture, and good governance—through which we can progress.”

“We can move our new generation forward. Let us begin a renewed struggle for that goal.”

The BNP leader said that the opportunity created by the student-led uprising to build a new Bangladesh should be embraced.

He stressed that this effort should not be limited to politics but should extend to all fields, including sports, culture, social life, education, and health.

“The goal is to see a new Bangladesh in every aspect,” he concluded.
