Another case of COVID-19 has been detected in Chattogram.
The city’s Civil Surgeon Dr Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter to bdnews24.com on Wednesday.
A 27-year-old man’s test was positive at a private diagnostic centre in the port city.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) had previously reported three COVID-19 cases in Chattogram on Tuesday.
Among the four who tested positive for the coronavirus as of Wednesday, three reside in the city. The fourth lives in Mirsharai Upazila’s Jorarganj.
Among the patients are two men and two women.
The DGHS has advised people to avoid crowds, wear masks and follow health guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.
The civil surgeon said that preparations are being made to prevent further spread of the virus. The 250 Bed Chattogram General Hospital has already been designated as a dedicated COVID facility, he added.
