The government has appointed an administrator to form “Dhaka Central University” by merging seven government colleges in Dhaka.
Prof AKM Elias, principal of Dhaka College, has been appointed administrator of the proposed university, according to a notification from the education ministry on Sunday.

Elias recently retired as principal of Dhaka College but was reappointed on Sunday, coinciding with a student movement by seven colleges demanding an interim administration before Dhaka Central University’s institutional structure is formed.
He will receive additional duty allowance and serve as the administrator until the end of his contract as the Dhaka College principal.
