The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two people in connection with the recovery of the body of a general manager at Ha-Meem Group’s garment unit.
The arrestees are Md Saiful Islam, 39, and Md Nur Nabi Mia, 19.
RAB-1 Company Commander Maj Muhammad Ahnaf Rasif Bin Halim said Saiful was arrested in Falgachha of Gaibandha’s Sundarganj and Nabi in Harram Uttarpara of Lalmonirhat’s Kaliganj on Wednesday.
The RAB official would not comment on the motive behind the murder.
Police recovered the body of Md Ahsan Ullah, 48, near a plot on Road 3, Sector 16 in Diabari on Tuesday afternoon.
He was the GM of "That's It Sports Wear Ltd", a unit of Ha-Meem Group.
He had been missing for two days before the body was found, according to police.
His family filed a police complaint on Monday.
Turag Police Station chief Rahat Khan said, “The body exhibited signs of decomposition, with some injuries that were not immediately visible.
“However, based on forensic evidence and the surrounding environment, we believe he was murdered elsewhere before being dumped here.”
