A local BNP leader has been injured in an alleged bomb attack in Brahmanbaria's Bijoynagar.

The attack took place around 11pm on Saturday at Mirzapur Mor, leaving 35-year-old Enam Khan, general secretary of Ichapura Union BNP, injured. He later confirmed the incident himself.

Recalling the attack, he said, “I was having tea with a few party leaders and activists at Mirzapur Mor when assailants arrived on motorcycles and hurled three bombs at us before speeding away.

“I suffered injuries on different parts of my hand. The loud explosions triggered panic among locals. We later informed the police, who arrived to inspect the scene.”

Sub-Inspector Monir Hossain of Bijoynagar Police Station said, “When we reached the location, we did not find anyone there. We spoke with witnesses and will analyse CCTV footage from the area.”

He added that no formal complaint had been lodged yet but assured that legal action would be taken if one was filed.
