Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus has extended his greetings and best wishes to the people of Bangladesh and the global Muslim community on the occasion of Laylatul Qadr, also known as Shab-e-Qadr.
In a nationwide address on Thursday evening, Yunus said: “Laylatul Qadr is a blessed and sacred night. On this night in the holy month of Ramadan, the Holy Quran, a guide for all of humanity, was revealed to the world. Almighty Allah has declared in the Quran: ‘Indeed, I sent it [the Quran] down during the night of Qadr.’”
He added, “Almighty Allah has proclaimed this night to be greater than a thousand months. The prayers and devotions performed on this night are superior to those offered over a thousand months.
“On this night, the infinite mercy and blessings of Allah descend upon us. Through worship and devotion, we can attain His closeness and seek His boundless mercy, blessings, and forgiveness.”
The chief advisor said, “On this sacred night, I pray that Almighty Allah grants us the wisdom to abandon all forms of injustice, wrongdoing, conflict, and superstitions and dedicate ourselves to the welfare of humanity and the development of our nation.
“On this holy occasion, I beseech Almighty Allah for the forgiveness, progress, peace, prosperity, and well-being of our beloved motherland and the Muslim Ummah. May Allah guide us all. Ameen.”
