Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus is set to meet with district superintendents of police and chiefs of different police departments across the country to review the state of the law and order.
His Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder said at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on Sunday the meeting will be held at the chief advisor's office in Tejgaon on Mar 16.
“Concern is prevalent among the people about the law and order situation. The chief advisor has called police officers from all over the country on Monday.
“A total of 127 officers, including the SP and officers of higher ranks, the Metropolitan Police commissioner, the head of the Crime Division, will meet the chief advisor in a special meeting.
"The police officers will update the chief advisor on the law and order situation, after which he will provide necessary directions.
“The IGP will deliver a welcome speech and review the measures taken by the police to control the situation since Aug 5.”
Azad said apart from the IGP, six field-level police officers will speak at the meeting.
“This is a special meeting between the chief advisor and police. Usually, there is a Police Week and there, the head of government addresses the force.
“This time, the Police Week will begin on Apr 19,” he added.
