UN Secretary-General António Guterres is set to visit Bangladesh for a four-day trip at the invitation of Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government.
The UN chief will arrive in the country on Mar 13 and leave on Mar 16, Bangladesh’s Permanent Mission to the UN said on Tuesday.
The itinerary for the trip has yet to be published.
The UN Secretary-General’s Office confirmed the visit in a press release.
Khalilur Rahman, high representative of the chief advisor on the Rohingya Issue and priority matters, handed over the invitation to the secretary-general on Feb 7 in New York.
