Metro rail service resumed at 8:30am on Sunday after a pause on Eid day, but the railway’s authorities have banned passengers from carrying raw or cooked meat on it.
Passengers cannot carry the skins of sacrificed animals on the trains either, the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said in a notice.
Body checks will be performed at the entrance of each metro rail station, and anyone found carrying raw or cooked meat will be barred from entering the station, the notice said.
After a day off, the metro rail resumed its service on Sunday with a 30-minute headway.
However, it will follow the government holiday timing from Monday for its trains.
